HOW TO MAKE NEW VEGAS LOOK PRETTIER THAN A PRINCESS IN A COURT OF WENCHESDownload the following mods:.: install this first. Consider it your base texture pack. You might want to consider downloading the optional Washed Out Wasteland Textures as well. Be warned, though; it will be taxing on your PC. If you have a SSD, I suggest setting up NTFS junctions so that you can put the meshes and textures folder on it.: I'd recommend installing this second, but do not overwrite NMC's textures. You can overwrite if you want, but many people prefer the look of NMC's work - it's best to just install the textures that this pack add, that NMC never got around to working on.: install this third.

This video covers three texture mods for Fallout New Vegas: NMC's Texture Pack, Ojo Bueno, and Poco Bueno. We give a brief review, then show proper installation directions for Mod Organizer.

Nmcs

Like Poco, don't overwrite any textures. This updates a lot of clutter. If your PC is struggling with NMC/Poco, you might want to consider leaving this out as the tiny pieces of clutter you can barely see aren't really essential.: Don't overwrite. I use it mainly for the cigarettes.: compatible with New Vegas. Some textures will need manual renaming to work, as ObsidianStag offers many variants. For the world globes, I recommend the dirty red medicine style (TexturesClutterOfficeglobe01.dds is the base texture) as it suits the game's western aesthetic.: a rather lovely improvement to the Mojave's flora diversity. I recommend the 'Dead Wasteland' variant, but it's up to you.

Make sure you enable compatibility for NMC when installing it. Requires the Fallout Mod Manager. Highly recommend you grab it.Hectrol's, and: improves these respective textures.: revamps energy weapon firing effects and textures and also touches up some of the projectile weapon firing effects (like bullet hit decals, and such).: what it says on the tin.: improves SMSpinebreaker textures, making them look a bit more detailed and a little less like silly putty.: I'd like to recommend this, but the ESPs are a mess (dirty references and unnecessary entry changes). I use my own custom version of it. PM if you'd like it, I can't really publically post it without getting the modder's permission. Improves Power Armor and Reinforced Combat Armor textures.: improves Ranger Combat Armor.

Recently hit version 3.0, with support for Lonesome Road's Elite Ranger gear.: you can use whichever pack you prefer, but I choose the Classic Pack since it replaces the booze with classic Fallout brands, suiting the west coast locale of NV.Millenia's: improves most of the Mojave's arsenal. If you decide to use this, make sure you grab the compatibility files from Weapon Mods Expanded.: improves skill book textures, while retaining the original designs.: improves New Vegas's magazine textures. Like ObsidianStag's skill books, these stay true to the vanilla designs.: improves NCR paper bills and Legion coins. The NCR money textures are a little unoptimised, if I recall they have insanely huge resolutions at about 5mb a pop and they have all of this unutiilised blank area. I have my own customised version that downscales them, removes the unused areas and remaps the meshes' UV maps. PM if want.: does the same with prewar money. Comes with a few variants.: improves chem visual fidelity.: a fucking godsend.

Can't play the game without this. De-consoleifies the game's user interface. Optional, revamps the game's user interface to make it look like it's straight out of Fallout or Fallout 2.

Works well with the Pipboy 2500 to give you a classic Fallout vibe. If you want it, install it straight after DarN's UI and then apply.: another fantastic initiative.

Adds a mod configuration menu that is accessible from the main menu (along with 'load game', 'save game', etc). Works with many mods like More Realistic Aiming, Project Nevada, Flashlight. Project Nevada comes with a version of it preconfigured but I'd recommend grabbing the latest from here.: pretty sweet mod that lets you cycle between weapons with the mouse wheel and also pops up windows when looking at weapons on the ground, displaying their stats (think Borderlands).: just a small, thoughtful mod that replaces the Pipboy icons for small clutter with unique icons.: truly a thing of wonder and beauty. Completely hides the game's ingame HUD until it is needed.

Makes the experience quite immersive. Nothing is displayed on-screen until certain conditions arise.

For example, if you draw your weapon it displays the condition/ammo counter HUD element. If you enter combat, it shows your health, ammo count and action points until you leave VATS. If you fall off a cliff, it will show how much health you lose and then slowly fade away. Customisable, too.: install this last. Makes all of the user interface-changing mods work together.

Originally posted by Vladimir Lenin:So I reinstalled NV today and got NMC's textures (the heavy one). I use Nexus for the record.I got all the 3 parts ready and loaded. For some reason they don't show up in the data files. When I load the game, it's vanilla textures! Nothing changes!

What do I do?I just wanted to play some FNV with good graphics.Thank you,Vlad. If they don't show up in the data files, you should look here they are installed instead, I guess. Maybe the folder path is set up incorrectly and they weren't installed into the texture folder.

I guess you remembered to activate Archive invalidation? It's a pure texture replacement mod that doesn't use a plugin, so it'll never appear in your load order. For texture replacers to work, you need to instruct the game to load the loose texture files instead of those packed in the game archives. You do that by enabling archive invalidation. Easiest way to do that is by installing a mod manager FOMM/NMM which gives you a toggle option. If it still doesn't work after that, you must have installed the files to the wrong location. Go back and re-read the instructions. When using HD resolution texture replacers like NMC, it is also strongly recommended that you make your game executable 4GB aware by using the 4GB patcher.
